Muscat – In a thrilling final match of the Socca World Cup, Oman claimed the championship title after a dramatic penalty shootout win over defending champions Kazakhstan on Saturday at the Oman Automobile Association grounds in Seeb.

This victory was especially significant as it marked the first time the tournament was hosted in the Middle East.

The game ended 1-1 in regular time, leading to a tense shootout where Oman scored twice, while Kazakhstan managed just one goal.

Earlier, Oman secured their place in the final by beating Romania 4-1 in the semi-finals.

A total of 40 teams competed in the six-a-side football tournament, grouped into six pools. Participating nations included the US, Italy, Canada, Germany, Greece, Belgium, Poland, France, England, Mexico, Argentina, and South Africa.
